September 12, 2019: Keeping Our Top Sellers In Stock

Earlier this year, there were months when some of our top-selling titles were unavailable. An unexpected bump in sales at the start of the year burned through our supply of Munchkin Deluxe, Munchkin 2, and other games and expansions, and left the team working hard with the GPI office to accelerate planned reprints. The current uncertainty and growing flood of games in the market has surprised us a few times now – both by games selling faster than expected as well as slower than expected – and we've not yet found our rhythm in this unstable environment.

Regardless of what will or will not happen, we've identified a number of our top-selling games and expansions, and have placed a blanket order with GPI to (we hope) avoid future outages. Starting in September, and every other month till March, we will receive a container loaded with copies of:

  • Munchkin Deluxe
  • Munchkin
  • Munchkin 2
  • Munchkin 3
  • Munchkin 4
  • Munchkin 5
  • Munchkin Cthulhu
  • Munchkin Warhammer 40,000
  • Munchkin Warhammer 40,000: Faith and Firepower
  • Munchkin Warhammer 40,000: Savagery and Sorcery
  • Munchkin Warhammer Age of Sigmar
  • Munchkin Zombies
  • Illuminati
  • Zombie Dice

This is a pricey commitment, but we think it is the right bet to make in order to keep a steady supply of these games and expansions in the warehouse for the holidays.

We will continue to keep an eye on inventory levels – as we do constantly – so we can make a decision as to whether or not to place a similar standing order with GPI later this year. It is our hope that this steady flow will allow us to fulfill order requests without housing too much excess inventory. Will this work? We won't know until next year, but we think this will help our cash flow and our ability to fill orders for our top-selling evergreen (and new) titles.
