September 15, 2019: Autoduel Weekly: What Will Car Wars Sixth Edition Cost?

We know that cost is a serious concern these days – everything costs more than it once did. And we know that many of you are waiting for the Car Wars Sixth Edition project to launch on Kickstarter and asking: How much money will I need to support the game? With that in mind, we wanted to give you some advance insight so you can start saving up to join in Car Wars Sixth Edition as soon as the Kickstarter page goes live.

Please note that all prices are estimates and will likely change before the project is live. Additionally, these numbers do not include shipping charges. And yes, international rewards will be offered, so no matter where you are in the world, start saving up your cash!

  • Car Wars Sixth Edition, Basic Pledge – To get the game, which can handle up to four players, we expect that you will need $100 to cover the Kickstarter pledge. This is for the dice, cards, rules, dashboards, turning key, and miniatures – everything you need to play the new edition of Car Wars! This does not cover any of the possible add-on items.
  • Car Wars Sixth Edition, Upgraded Pledge – The game, three more miniatures, and a playmat. This does not include any of the possible add-on items. This pledge will be priced somewhere around $200.
  • Car Wars Sixth Edition, Ultimate Pledge – This is the Upgrade Pledge plus a handful of other miniatures expansions (exact number still being worked out, but at least three more minis), a second playmat, and more. This pledge is likely to come in around $350 and will include a lot of options for when you sit down to start designing your new cars. This does not include any of the possible add-on items.

There will not be an "I Want It All" reward for this campaign.

And that covers the basics, gang. There may be some even higher-level (limited) rewards, but the three listed above are the "you get the stuff!" rewards.

As we said, these are estimates and there's a chance that the numbers will change. The most important thing to remember? Nothing will be exclusive to Kickstarter. Not all items produced will be offered to distribution, but we will make any remaining inventory available after the campaign is completely shipped to backers.

Note: To receive email notification when the Car Wars project goes live, please follow both the Steve Jackson Games and Warehouse 23 pages on Kickstarter.
